If you've ever wondered how to spy on your competition (in the most ethical way possible), then buckle up because today, we’re diving into how to analyze Pinterest competitor keywords using Pinclicks! This is next-level Pinterest strategy, and I’m spilling all the secrets!

How to Analyze Pinterest Competitor Keywords Using Pinclicks

Why You Should Care About Competitor Keywords

Pinterest is basically a search engine dressed up in a pretty, scrollable format. That means keywords rule the game. If you’re targeting a niche, you need to know what’s working for others so you can swoop in and grab some of that traffic.

This is where Pinclicks’ Account Explorer comes in—it helps us peek into what keywords are bringing the big players success.

Follow Along With The Video!

I know that some of my peeps would rather read than watch, so here is what I did in this video!

Step 1: Identify a Competitor's Pinterest Account

Let’s say you’re targeting the 50+ lifestyle and arts niche. You start by opening a relevant pin and checking who saved it.

Step 1: Identify a Competitor's Pinterest Account

For example, I found an account called Inspire My Style, which gets 2 million monthly views—right in my target range!

Step 2: Use Pinclicks to Analyze Their Keywords

Once we have a competitor in mind, we plug their account into Pinclicks to get a treasure trove of data!

Here are some of the keywords they rank for:

  • Finding purpose in life after 50
  • Healthy eating after 50
  • Makeup for older women
  • Fall mantel decorating
  • Anti-aging skincare products (This one has 15,000 searches per month!)

Immediately, I can see that Makeup for Older Women is a keyword I should target!

Step 3: Repeat for Another Niche

Let’s say you’re in the DIY decorating niche. We follow the same process:

  1. Find a pin from a popular DIY account.
  2. Check the monthly views (aim for accounts in the 1M+ range).
  3. Run them through Pinclicks’ Account Explorer.

For example, I checked Leader of Light USA, which also has 2M monthly views. Their top keywords included:

  • DIY dog house
  • Macrame ideas
  • Mandala designs
  • Bluey coloring pages

If you’re in DIY, you now know that Macrame ideas and Mandala designs might be worth targeting!

Step 4: Track and Rank Your Own Keywords

Once you have your competitor’s keywords, start tracking them in Pinclicks’ Rank Tracker.

For example, I track:

  • Craft room ideas aesthetic
  • Dementia activities
  • Christmas bookmarks (which is doing great—just not in February 😂)

Your goal? Climb the ranks and get your pins seen!

Bonus: Analyzing Big-Player Accounts

Want to go even bigger? Let’s look at a mega Pinterest account like Cushy Spa, which dominates in low-carb recipes.

Here’s what we find when running them through Pinclicks:

  • 7-8 million monthly views
  • #1 for “Soup recipes healthy”
  • #1 for “Low carb meal prep”

Again, we don’t 100% know what Pinterest’s volume metric means yet, but bigger is better! If you’re in the food niche, these are killer keywords to go after.

Final Thoughts: Start Spying & Start Ranking!

Using Pinclicks’ Account Explorer gives you an unfair advantage in the Pinterest keyword game. By analyzing competitors, you can:
