I made these free printable butterfly bookmarks for the book lovers in my life! These creative bookmarks are great for both adult crafts and crafting with kids!

Hey bookworms! If you're anything like me, you can never have enough lovely bookmarks. They're not just practical… they're little pieces of art that peek out from your favorite stories!
So, I decided to combine my love of books with my crafty side and create these adorable butterfly bookmarks. And the best part? They're free for you to print and make your own!
Why Butterflies?
Butterflies symbolize so much – transformation, beauty, and freedom. Just like a good book can transport you to another world, butterflies remind us that there's always potential for change and growth. Plus, they're just so darn pretty!
To make these colorful butterflies I used a combination of images from Creative Fabrica and my own graphic design skills and imagination!
What You'll Need
- My free printable butterfly designs
- Cardstock or thick white paper (this is the kind I like!)
- Scissors
- Hole punch (optional)
- Ribbon, yarn, or tassel: For a finishing touch
How to Make Your Bookmarks
- Download and Print: Choose your favorite butterfly designs from my free printable. I recommend using cardstock for a sturdier bookmark, but regular printer paper works too.
- Cut Out The Bookmarks: I like to use a craft paper trimmer but you can use scissors!
- Embellish (Optional): Get creative! You can add glitter, sequins, or even draw extra details on your butterflies.
- Punch a Hole (Optional): If you want to add a ribbon or tassel, punch a hole at the top of your bookmarks!
- Thread Your Ribbon: Thread a pretty ribbon, piece of yarn, or tassel through the hole and tie a knot.
Personal License
These free printables carry a personal license, that said, if you are using them printed out for a group of kids, seniors in a class, please feel free to print as many copies as you like!
There is no license to distribute these digitally. If you do want to share these with a friend, send her a link to this page so she can download them herself!

Pretty Butterfly Bookmarks
This set of butterfly bookmarks is super pretty and fun! The first one is awesome with wildflowers and watercolor butterflies, I love the drippy paint on the second one and the last butterfly just touched my heart with the color blocks and primitive style!

Who doesn't love a touch a whimsy and magic with their reading? The first butterfly is such a fun mix of colors and im-practical magic, OF COURSE I had to have a black cat and black butterflies, and the last is a semi-steampunk and beautiful reminder to take your time!
