Artist Marketing Meets Pattern Maker Repper!

Let me tell you a little story... I sat down with my iced coffee, stared at my latest mermaid cowgirl masterpiece (I mean, yeehaw and splash-splash all in one?!), and asked myself: How do I get more marketing eyeballs on this beauty without turning into a used car salesman?

Enter: Repper. AKA my new favorite pattern-making sidekick. If Canva and a kaleidoscope had a baby? That’s Repper.

This post contains affiliate links. If you purchase anything, I earn a small commission at no extra charge to you. Check out my policies here.

💡 The Big Idea:

I’m using patterns made from my OWN ARTWORK as a freebie—yes, FREE—to attract folks who dig my vibe. These patterns not only look cute on pillows and dresses (seriously, just wait till you see them), but they also lead people directly to my artwork for sale on Etsy. Think of it as a breadcrumb trail made of rainbows!

🎥 See Repper In Action In This Walkthrough Video!

🎨 Here’s How It Works (a.k.a. "Steal My Strategy"):

Create Your Artwork
Mine was a vintage cowgirl. Yes, she’s part glitter, part lassoo, and totally fabulous.

Pop It Into Repper
This tool is so fun it should come with a warning label. You drag the image around and instantly get TONS of patterns—squares, stripes, florals, you name it.

Pick the Prettiest Patterns
I made NINE. Some were soft pastels, some were bold blooms, all were magical. Save the ones you love!

Share the Patterns as a Freebie
Put them in a blog post or social media post. Link them to your art. BOOM—your patterns become a funnel of artsy love leading straight to your shop.

Grow Your Email List
Offer the patterns as a download in exchange for an email. Now you’ve got fans AND a way to stay in touch. (Cue future sales: Black Friday, Mother’s Day, you name it.)

I recommend Kit for your email provider (it is FREE to use until you reach a large list size!

💰 Bonus Round: Patterns as Products!

Don’t stop at freebies—this is your new revenue stream, babe.

  • List the patterns themselves on Etsy
  • Make commercial-use versions
  • Bundle them into collections (hello, Halloween ghosts and fall pumpkins!)
  • Coordinate them with your prints to turn your shop into a pattern-lover’s paradise.

Final Thoughts from the Pattern Playground

This isn’t just some cutesy side project - this is a legit marketing strategy in disguise. It's giving fun, functional, and financially savvy!

So go ahead. Make patterns. Give ‘em away. Sell ‘em. Use them to show off your art in fresh, creative ways. Let your art MULTIPLY - literally!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a cowboy flamingo print calling my name and a Repper tab open
