How To Make $300 This Week Online (Without Starting a Business)

Okay, friend. Let’s say you need to make some money - quick. Not six months from now when your Etsy shop is thriving or your blog starts rolling in ad revenue. I mean this week. Like rent’s due, the car battery just died, and your kid has outgrown yet another pair of shoes!

This isn’t about starting a full-blown business or becoming a content creator overnight. This is about using what you already have - skills, stuff, and access to the internet - to make an extra $300 this week.

Here’s the real-deal guide for grown women, tired moms, early retirees, and anyone else who doesn’t have time to mess around!

1. Sell Unused Stuff Laying Around Your House

Potential: $100-$200

Don’t roll your eyes! You know there’s a bread machine in your cabinet you’ve never used. Or a pile of “someday” craft supplies collecting dust. Or clothes in your closet that still have tags.

  • List on Facebook Marketplace for fast local sales.
  • Try eBay or Poshmark for name-brand or vintage items.
  • Bonus: List in local “Buy Nothing” or “Garage Sale” groups for quick bites.

💡 Tip: Look up sold listings to price things right. Nobody wants your used jeans for $75, Karen.

2. Offer Microservices on Fiverr or Upwork

Potential: $50-$150

This is NOT about becoming a full-time freelancer. This is about hopping on Fiverr and saying, “I’ll proofread your blog post,” or “I’ll design a cute printable,” or “I’ll be your virtual assistant for an hour.”

  • Got Canva skills? Offer a quick social media graphic package.
  • Great with grammar? Do simple editing jobs.
  • Speak fluent Gen X sarcasm? Someone out there wants your voice for their blog posts.

💡 Tip: Set your prices low for quick gigs and stack a few in one week.

3. Declutter Your Inbox for Cash

Potential: $10-$30 (low effort)

Use apps like Capital One Shopping to scan your inbox for price drops on stuff you’ve already bought. You might get refunds without lifting a finger.

Also check InboxDollars or Receipt Hog -apps that literally pay you to open emails or upload receipts. Not huge money, but hey, it adds up while you’re watching Outlander reruns.

4. Resell Free Stuff Online

Potential: $50-$150

Yes, this works.

  • Check the Free section on Craigslist, Facebook, OfferUp.
  • Pick up furniture, baby gear, or electronics people are tossing.
  • Clean it up, take a better picture, flip it.

A curb alert bookshelf becomes a $40 Facebook sale by Friday. Ask me how I know (hint: it’s in my garage right now!)

5. Take Surveys or Do Simple Tasks

Potential: $20-$50

You will not get rich doing surveys, but in a pinch?

  • Try Prolific, UserTesting, Swagbucks, or Pinecone Research.
  • Look for higher-paying tasks like product feedback or audio reviews.
  • Avoid anything that feels sketchy or wants your Social Security number.

I do this on a periodic basis for a research firm that wants to know about influencers. General survey firms do pay, but survey firms for specific demographics pay even better, look around!

6. Offer a Service to Your Online Friends

Potential: $50-$200

You don’t have to start a side hustle. You just need one or two people to say yes.

  • Post in your local Facebook group or your personal feed: “I’ve got some time this week - can I help anyone with techy stuff, photo edits, or organizing files?”
  • If you’re good with words, offer resume polishing.
  • If you’re fast at typing, offer transcription.
  • If you’re crafty, offer to digitize recipes or make a photo slideshow for a birthday.

💡 Tip: People will pay for small, annoying tasks they don’t want to do.

7. Affiliate Links in Facebook Groups

Potential: $25-$100

Hear me out. If you’re already in groups where people are asking for recommendations—say, planners, printables, kitchen stuff—reply with your affiliate link.

  • Sign up for Amazon Associates or share your referral link for a service you already use (like Rakuten, Audible, or Canva).
  • Don’t spam, just share when it makes sense.
  • A few clicks can bring in surprising commissions.

Real Talk: Stack a Few of These and BOOM - You’re at $300

Here’s what a real-life $300 week might look like:

  • $125 from selling 3 items on Facebook Marketplace
  • $85 from doing 2 small Fiverr gigs
  • $40 from reselling 2 free finds
  • $20 from affiliate links
  • $30 from surveys and receipt apps

Done and done.

Wrap-Up: You Don’t Need to “Become” Anything

You don’t need a niche.
You don’t need a YouTube channel.
You don’t need business cards or a big plan.

You just need to get a little scrappy, look around at what you already have, and be willing to take messy action. You can always go full-on entrepreneur later!

But for now? $300 this week is totally doable.
